Big News for Cassini-Huygens…

Although not surprising, this announcement was expected months ago, so I was starting to sweat a little, but it’s official now – Cassini’s mission has been extended two years through 2010. That’s a great news for a mission that already has been a stunner from the surprising finds of liquid water on Enceladus, a likely ocean of liquid water of Titan, not to mention giant methane lakes, ice volcanoes and much more – it’s a mission that has much more to do.

It’s also great news for the film as I hope to finishing the film in summer of 2010 so that means I will have new images all the way through finishing the film. There’s even hope for enough fuel for a small third extension if the spacecraft survives in good shape…
