We survived another year of Greensboro’s 48 Hour Film Festival. We turned in our film “Catastrophe” on time and it’s a very different film from last year’s “Daisy Dukes“. We are the only team that got the brand new genre “Animal Film”.
We had a great time making it and the only real problem we had (other than having only 48 hours) was having to find a new male lead actor at 8am Saturday. But we improvised and came up with a plan – that’s the challenge of the 48 Hour process.
45 Teams were signed up and the official tally is 34 teams made the deadline and 41 turned in films at all. All 41 will screen (only the 34 on time are eligible for judges award but all 41 can get audience awards) at the Carolina Theatre in downtown Greensboro on Saturday in three blocks, 12:30pm, 3:30pm and 7:30pm. We are in the 3:30 block but several of us will be at all 3 screenings plus the wrap party afterwards.
I kind of miss the old days of screening over three nights so you could see each film twice as it’s hard to remember all the films but the Carolina is a great venue for it, so it will still be such fun to see what every team came up with.
Get your tickets here and see you at the screenings.
